Stay away from these scam artists!

I ordered what was supposed to be a brand new camera and lens through Amazon, and it showed up on time, nicely packaged. But guess what? It was clearly used. I could tell because the settings were linked to someone else's Wi-Fi and other personal preferences. So, I reached out to them, and they just brushed me off, saying, 'Send it back, and we’ll take a look!' Of course, I had no way to prove whether it was like that when I got it. I asked for at least a partial refund (the camera worked, which is a plus), but they’re all about taking your cash. When it comes to issues that are clearly their fault, they just don’t want to deal with it! I usually avoid British companies for this very reason! I’ve never faced such problems with other European businesses, and definitely not with Chinese ones; they really know how to treat their customers right. Seriously, don’t even think about using this company! Consider yourself warned.

I bought the 3 Legged Thing Zayla Dedicated Camera L-Bracket - Arca Swiss Compatible L-Bracket for my photography needs, but it doesn’t fit my Olympus OM-1 at all. Now I gotta send it back, and guess what? They expect me to cover the postage and packing. I’m pretty sure that under the long distance selling act, they shouldn’t be charging for returns. Just a heads up to anyone thinking of buying from them: if you need to send something back, they’ll hit you with charges. I’ve never been asked to pay for return shipping before. I’m done ordering from this company.

Awesome deals and fantastic service - I placed an order for a D7500 body on Friday, July 1st, expecting it to arrive by Tuesday, July 5th (which I was cool with) - But it showed up around lunchtime on Saturday, July 2nd - super thrilled - big shoutout to everyone who made it happen. (Had to chuckle, the extra battery I got from Amazon (since they were out of stock) took longer to get here - it came in Saturday night . . .) Count me in as a definite repeat customer!

I purchased a telescope online for my son's Christmas gift. I reached out and chatted with the super friendly and helpful team. They provided tons of info about the telescope and offered tips on how to connect a camera to it. The telescope showed up pretty quickly. There was a minor issue with a bit of damage to the tripod when it got here (not the fault of Carmarthen Cameras), but they handled it right away. Fantastic company, definitely recommend!

I’m no expert on cameras, but my son sure is, and I wanted to get him something photography-related for Christmas and his birthday in March. Over the past couple of months, I did a ton of digging into lenses, DSLR and Mirrorless cameras, and what works with what (like Sigma, EOS vs R6).

I thought I had my final list ready and stumbled upon Camarthen Cameras. I had checked out a bunch of online sellers through Pricerunner who were cheaper, but those places had some pretty rough reviews. So, I decided to give Camarthen Cameras a ring to make sure they had what I needed in stock for the holidays.

I chatted with a guy named Andy (Andrew Lamnea) who was INCREDIBLY helpful. We went over different details of my order - like how practical the Sigma 60-600 lens was because of its weight, and a bunch of other tech stuff - including the Canon replacement battery, how battery power loss affects shutter speed, and more. We agreed I’d place my order online since they would have written confirmation. Andy also recommended I call back the next morning to double-check everything was set. He was off the next day, but told me to ask for Krish. He was so committed that he was the only one left in the shop and was chatting with me in the dark!

So, I placed my order, then called back and spoke with Krish. He was JUST as helpful as Andy and shared even more info, especially about SD cards.

This is honestly the best store I've interacted with in a long time. I got a pair of binoculars from them, and they showed up with special delivery the very next day. They even called to make sure everything was alright after I made my order, tossed in two sets of batteries at no extra cost, and were eager to hear if I was happy with the product. Plus, their prices were the most competitive by a good margin. I can't recommend them enough!

I've made a few small purchases from Carmarthen Cameras before, but recently I was on the hunt for something more significant—a Zeiss Milvus ZE lens, especially with that cash-back deal from Zeiss.

After checking out different dealers online, it quickly became obvious that Carmarthen was the top choice. Their pricing was unbeatable, they’re an authorized Zeiss dealer, and they had both the Canon and Nikon versions at the same price. One other dealer was charging extra for the Canon version, which I thought was pretty shady.

I placed my order, and honestly, it was handled flawlessly. They acknowledged it right away, shipped the lens super fast, and I got updates from DPD all along the way until it arrived—quick, well-packaged, and in perfect shape.
